Our Access Centre is the first port of call for most of our Forward Thinking Birmingham services and is run by our helpful and understanding team of clinicians and support staff.

If you think you or someone you know could benefit from support for mental health concerns, please make a referral into our service. A referral is the information we need to help us decide what kind of service would be most beneficial.

Once we receive a referral, our Access Centre team reviews that information and recommends what we think will be most helpful. This could include an initial assessment at one of our community hubs, a visit from our Crisis team or a service provided by one of our local partner organisations.

We can also advise on whether or not our services might be right at this time and talk you through the referral process, where required.

What happens next

If we need to, we will get in touch with you to get any additional information and discuss different options. Where possible though, we will try to avoid this so that you don't have to tell your story to different people.

Once we've decided which service we think will best meet your needs, you'll receive a letter from either Forward Thinking Birmingham or the specific service to let you know.
