Learning disability service detail

Mental health problems (e.g anxiety and depression) are much more common in people with learning disabilities.

Sometimes these issues can be overlooked because of the learning disability but it's important that all children and young people have access to the right support for their needs.

That's why we have a specialist Learning Disabilities service, which provides assessment and treatment for people up to the age of 19 with moderate to profound learning disabilities, who are also experiencing mental health issues or showing challenging behaviours. We offer a number of services to support children, young people and their families, including psychological therapies, behavioural support, family work and medication.

How to access our Learning Disability team

You can refer yourself (or a loved one) to our service via our online portal or by calling us on 0300 300 0099.

Children and young people with learning disabilities can also be referred by any professional involved with the family, with appropriate consent, in the same way.
